THE MISSION

Self C.A.R.E. is an idea I'd been promoting for years turned into a purposeful movement. It educates about the mental health aspects of practicing self-care, and helps make self-care accessible to everyone through donations.

WHY SELF C.A.R.E.?

I've been involved with the Miss Vermont Scholarship Organization for the past four years. When anyone asks me why I keep participating, my answer is the same. I love how much time and effort I put into taking care of myself when I compete. In fact, I've found it to have extremely positive effects on my mental wellbeing. I want to share that self-care can look a lot of different ways but is important for everyone.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Practice self-care! It sounds simple, but it can be easy to overlook ourselves when life gets hectic. Take the time to go for a walk, call a friend, or doing something that makes you smile. Self-care can look different to everyone. Even taking the time to have a shower or brushing your teeth are acts of self-care. To take it one step further, you could pick an item off this donation list to be given to folks who may not be able to afford them right now but deserve the same right to self-care.
